Library Funding Basics
The Pottstown Regional Public Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit receiving public funds from the State of Pennsylvania, the Borough of Pottstown, Lower Pottsgrove Township, Upper Pottsgrove Township, and West Pottsgrove Township. This government funding covers about 70% of the annual cost of staffing the library, keeping our collection up to date, providing e-resources, and, of course, being good stewards of our historic building. PRPL fundraising, corporate support, grant support and donations allow us to maintain and grow our ability to serve the community.
This budget season, PRPL has approached all of our municipal partners to request an increase in funding for our library which serves over 40,000 residents in the greater Pottstown area. Full funding requests for each township can be found at the links beneath each chart. If you value the library, please reach out to your borough council or your township commissioners and support our plea for increased funding.
Our Elevator is out of order-your gift can help!
Right now, we can use your help to get our elevator back in working order. We’ve met the goal to raise $77,000 to cover the project but we will keep fundraising for unexpected expenses that frequently crop up during a repair, especially in a vintage building such as ours.
Your donation of any amount will help us get the elevator repaired and provide access for patrons and staff to all the resources of the library. Any funds raised in excess of the repair project will be used for operational and repair expenses.

Fill the shelves
Honor a loved one in your life with a donation to the Pottstown Library. Ask our staff at the main desk about how you can donate money to purchase Individual Book titles, Individual Media titles (DVD/Audiobooks), and Shelf adoption (up to 25 books).
An honorary bookplate will be placed in/on each item to celebrate, honor, or memorialize someone special to you.

More ways to give
Get a Redner’s Save-a-Tape (or Pump Perks) card at the customer service desk at your Redner’s. Have the card scanned each time you check out. Hand in the ENTIRE tape next time you are in the library. Redner’s will donate back to the library 1% of your Save-a-Tape total. Thank you Redner’s Markets for giving back to the community.
